A Prayer and Giving Day is being held in church on June 7th as part of the worldwide Thy Kingdom Come prayer initiative.
Thy Kingdom Come is a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension to Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus.
We hope many at All Saints will wish to join in these 10 days of prayer, which coincides as last year with a special prayer and giving day we will be holding on June 7th based on our Generous Giving, Generous Living initiative.
The church will be open from 9.30am to 4.00pm for private prayer, with short prayers each hour led from the front. At 9.30am there will be a short form of Morning Prayer and at 3.45pm the day will end with a short form of Evening Prayer. A box will be available for any financial donations to the church or for offering your own gifts and time to our work.
The timetable for the day is as follows – this may be useful for people who want to come and pray about a particular subject or theme.
There are short prayers offered hourly on the themes below; otherwise silence for private prayer and meditation is kept.
9.30am Church open / Morning Prayer
10.00am Opening prayers
11.00am Prayers for the peace of the world
Noon Prayers for our world and the environment
1.00pm Prayers for the sick, the poor and all in need
2.00pm Prayers for the Church
3.00pm Remembering the departed
3.45pm Evening Prayer
4.00pm Church closes
Each set of hourly prayers concludes with the Lord’s Prayer
